Known by God
We live in a world that values knowing things. Knowing brings power and influence. Knowing more results in increased control over people and circumstances. It brings success and status. We reward men and women for their knowledge, we give them diplomas and promotions and corner offices with private restrooms.
In Christ’s Church, we rightly place a high value on knowing God. Knowing facts about God, knowing God’s character and actions, knowing truth about God’s love and his will—it’s important and good.
But knowledge does not save.
The Bible tells us being known by God is infinitely more important. God knowing me takes a much larger salvation priority than me knowing God. And it results in peace and joy, acceptance and encouragement, forgiveness and belonging in ways that our knowledge about God can never produce.
Please read Galatians 4:1-11. Then join us at 10:15 this Sunday morning July 27 as we consider together the incomprehensible blessing of being known by God.
